2018 is the first vintage from this vineyard since we purchased it in 2014 that we felt delivered wines that warranted bottling as estate grown, single vineyard wines in terms of character and quality.

2018 Rostein Riesling
Since our first harvest from the vineyard in 2015, the Riesling we have made has always been notable for its concentration, which we have come to attribute to in part the string of generally low yielding vintages and more importantly to some intrinsic nature of the site. It’s a quality we embrace. Handpicked in three passes over a week, each parcel was treated individually with regards to maceration prior to pressing and fermentation in both oak and stainless steel. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts and partial malolactic fermentation were undertaken and the wine left on lees for 10 months prior to racking. Bottled at 16 months without filtration. Vinolok closure.
