Perfumed nose of red fruits and spice – rose hip and dried rose petals overlay ripe raspberry, ripe red cherry, plum, nectarine and delicate cinnamon and mace notes. Intense mid weight palate with glowing red fruits on attack – red plum, raspberry and dried herb flavours – which fuse with plum stone like acids and light stony tannins on a fresh, dry finish.

This year’s release sees a blend of 82/12/3/3% grenache/shiraz/cinsault/counoise. Ripe blueberry and satsuma plum with a liberal splash of raspberry notes, hints of exotic spice, citrus blossom, cherry clafoutis, charcuterie and roasting meats, mace and crushed stone. Jeez, it’s great drinking. Mid-weighted with crushed-rock tannins and a finish that lingers very nicely indeed. – 94 points, Dave Brookes
