2023 Chardonnay – Adelaide Hills

Chardonnay sourced from the Morialta vineyard in Norton Summit; wild ferment in oak and maturation on full lees for a further 10 months. Light straw with ripe white peach, nectarine and citrus fruits, hints of soft spice, judicious nutty oak, crème fraîche, clover and almond blossom, minerals, almond meal and nougat. Grilled nuts and a distant whiff of cinnamon and nutmeg on the palate, the flavours stretching out nicely, framed by a stony, mineral-laden acidity, the flavours trailing slowly off with a touch more waxy lemon and stone. – 94 points, Dave Brookes
